COVID 19 FAQ

Q I am a tenant and my income has changed and I am concerned that I won't be able to pay my rent, what do I do?
A. If you are running in to financial difficulties, contact us today on +44 1223 457920 and we will work with you to manage the situation as best as possible over the coming months.

Q. I need to report a repair issue, is the process different now?
A. To report a repair during the outbreak you can continue to contact us using the normal telephone number and e-mail address (below) but please note many of the contractors that we work with have now closed so urgent works will be prioritised and less urgent works may take longer to complete than normal.

Q. Can I contact Townhall Lettings by post?
A. We are following the government guidance so all staff are currently working remotely so we cannot guarantee that postal correspondence will be received or dealt with in the usual way, it is best to contact us by e-mail or telephone until the government advice changes.

Q. Will there be any delays when trying to contact you by telephone or e-mail?
A. We are still responding to telephone and e-mail queries as normal.

Q. I am considering using Townhall Lettings as my agent for the first time, will you still be able to do a property appraisal?
A. We are always interested in anything related to your property and will take the time to discuss any queries you may have with you over the phone or by email. However, due to the governments restrictions on movement, the best we will be able to do at the moment would be to provide an indicative amount that we may be able to offer. As soon as the government guidance changes we will be able to come out and visit your property. After that, we are likely to be in a position to start managing your property very quickly.

Q. Will you still be conducting viewings for vacant properties?
A. We will be unable to conduct viewings until we receive further instructions from the Government.

Q. I am a landlord, will my rent continue to be paid?
A. Those landlords that have signed up to our guaranteed rent agreement will continue to be paid regardless of whether or not there is a void that now cannot be filled or if tenants stop paying their rent as a result of the COVID 19 outbreak.

Q. Will properties continue to be inspected during the outbreak?
A. To keep our staff and tenants safe, property inspections will be temporarily suspended until we receive further instructions from the Government.
