Townhall Lettings is an intermediate housing option for homeless applicants, persons from abroad who are fleeing persecution or natural disasters, who would be unable to access private sector rented accommodation through traditional means.
We work with our tenants to remove the barriers to other traditional housing pathways to assist them in finding long term affordable, suitable, and sustainable accommodation.

1. Our services

Guaranteed Rent
This option offers the same as the Traditional Management option and is only available to landlords that offer properties at affordable rents. Landlords would receive their monthly rent, regardless of voids.
Letting a property can be a risky business.
Our deal means that you receive a guaranteed payment, monthly, in advance, for the duration of your contract with us – even during any void periods. Because we are a not-for-profit service, we look to pay out a competitive guaranteed monthly sum, whilst charging tenants a rent that they can afford.
Referrals – Free of charge
This is a free of charge service for live-in landlords, who are looking for lodgers or tenants for shared accommodation.
2. Deposits With a Difference

Whilst we take every care to find tenants who are going to look after your property, we know that from time to time accidents do happen
With this in mind, we will set aside a negotiable guaranteed deposit bond of up to the equivalent of 8 weeks rent, which can be used to cover loss of rent and/or repairs at the end of the tenancy. We work with a competitive property maintenance service and can enlist them to repair damage not attributable to fair wear and tear at the end of a tenancy, thereby keeping your investment well maintained.
3. No Hidden Costs

There are no unexpected surprises with Townhall Lettings
We won't charge you for 'set up' costs, or a fee for inspecting properties. We don't charge for inventories and we won't bill you for a tenancy renewal fee every six or twelve months. Finally, you won't ever find an unspecified administration fee on your statement of account.
We believe we do our business in a way that is fair, transparent, and gives both landlord and tenant a great deal.
4. Tenant Support

A unique feature of our service is the work we do with our tenants
Every tenant we place in your property has access to additional support to help them settle in smoothly and to make sure that they understand their responsibilities and the high standard of behaviour we expect from them. We know that people can find themselves in need of accommodation for all kinds of reasons - we exist to provide, and to help people sustain good quality accommodation.
5. Private Sector Sustainment
Cambridge City Council are eager to support all tenancies within the private rented sector to ensure they are sustainable in the long term and to prevent homelessness.
Private Sector Sustainment has an officer in post who can be a direct contact between an agent, landlord, and the tenant. Their role is to maximise the income of the tenant, ensure that the property is maintained, and helping generally to sustain the tenancy.
